Scorpion Knives produces a limited number of handcrafted knives for sportsmen each year. A retired Information Systems Consultant; knives have been a hobby and fascination for 30 years. I started making custom Damascus Steel knives for my own use and enjoyment. Friends and acquaintances wanted to purchase them. Have I captured your attention? The Damascus knife blanks we use are fabricated from alternating layers of high carbon steel such as 1095 and a mild steel such as 15N20 (1075 with 2% Nickel). We use only full tang blade blanks. See our Shop Talk page to learn more about Damascus Steel. Handles (scales) are primarily fabricated from ironwoods such as Desert Ironwood, Black Mulga, and Ceylon Ebony. Scales on each handcrafted knife is finished with a minimum of 8 coats of hand rubbed Danish Oil. This time consuming process is well worth the extra effort to get a superior finish.
